CELCT was established jointly by the Bruno Kessler Foundation (former Cultural Institute of Trento) and the DFKI (Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz) and funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento. CELCT has its offices in Trento and has been operating since 2003.
Its goals are the creation of infrastructures and the developing of skills with a view to actively operating in the sector of enhancing linguistic and communication technologies in order to become a point of reference within the sector both at a national and European level.
CELCT undertakes different activities in the field of the enhancement of HLT (Human Language Technologies), which include the organisation of national and international enhancement campaigns in the context of which the company is involved in both management and scientific activity.
CELCT also specialises in the creation of language resources, with the development and recording of databases for different languages from different sources and at different levels of annotation.
